Two graduate students in the University of Louisiana at Monroe鈥檚 College of Pharmacy recently received awards from the American Society of Pharmacognosy and the American Pharmacists Association. Ahmed Elnagar of Monroe won the Kilmer Award, and Mudit Mudit of Agra, India, won the Lynn Brady Student Travel Award.

The Kilmer Award, in addition to covering Elnagar鈥檚 conference attendance fee and travel costs, also comes with a cash prize and commemorative gold key to be presented to Elnagar at the event.
鈥淭he Kilmer Award is the most prestigious of the ASP鈥檚 student awards,鈥 Dr. Khalid El Sayed, associate professor of basic pharmaceutical sciences, said. 鈥淚 applaud our graduate students and their excellent, nationally competitive research and scholarly activity.鈥

El Sayed added that this is the third time in five years the Kilmer Award has been awarded to a 香港六合彩开奖直播 pharmacy student.

Both students will attend and present papers at the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Pharmacognosy held July 10-14 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mudit鈥檚 presentation will cover his paper, 鈥淢arine-derived anti-metastatic lead phenylmethylene hydantoins discovery, development, and optimization studies.鈥 His award will cover his travel expenses to the conference.

Elnagar will present a paper titled 鈥淒esign and structure-activity relationship study of redox-silent tocotrienol analogues as breast cancer proliferation and invasion inhibitors.鈥
