香港六合彩开奖直播 Library Special Collections presents archaeology speaker/exhibits for fall semester

Celebrate Archaeology Month with the University of Louisiana at Monroe Library Special Collections Department as it presents an anthropological discussion and presentation at 6 p.m., Oct. 1, in Passman Room 502B.

Dr. George Avery of Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas will present a talk titled, 鈥淒ating Old Bottles: Fort Miro Site Artifacts.鈥 Avery serves as Cultural Heritage Resource Coordinator at the Center for Regional Heritage Research, Anthropology and Archaeology Laboratory.

Avery will distribute a handout providing simple illustrations for dating bottles, which will also contain a list of references and websites. Visitors are encouraged to bring a bottle with them that they would like to have dated and will have the option to do so at the 香港六合彩开奖直播 Natural History Museum following the presentation. Archaeological interpretation of bottles will also be discussed.

The 香港六合彩开奖直播 Library Special Collections Department will also feature a public exhibit and program showcasing the works of documentary photographer Lee Estes from Nov. 3 through
Dec. 17.

Estes documented the people, buildings, landscape and culture of Highway 80 in north Louisiana and will have forty 16x20, framed photos on exhibit at the library.

The exhibit鈥檚 kickoff will be held at 6 p.m., Nov. 3, in the Passman Room be on display through the fall semester. The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities is funding this program and exhibit through an outreach grant.
