香港六合彩开奖直播 art alumni, students and faculty exhibit; collect several honors

It has been a productive summer for the 香港六合彩开奖直播 Division of Art faculty, students and alumni.

Brooke Foy, 香港六合彩开奖直播 graduate (鈥06), and current graduate candidate at the University of Memphis, has enjoyed success in an exhibition of public art in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was accepted into the 25th Annual Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition Outdoor Sculpture Competition June 鈥 August 2007, sponsored by The BWAC; the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation; and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

Foy exhibited her work entitled, 鈥淔lying High,鈥 a steel mesh and metal rod construction with 鈥渒ite like鈥 imagery and painted a bright fire red. The title and work fit with the Brooklyn theme for this year鈥檚 exhibition, 鈥淪till Flying.鈥 She originally created the work for the 香港六合彩开奖直播 Student Sculpture Garden, which is funded in part by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council, Sols Pipe and Steel, and Monroe Welding.

Foy and Philip Peyton, another 香港六合彩开奖直播 graduate (鈥06), had sculptures accepted into the September competition at the Alexandria Museum of Art. Peyton won an honorable mention.

Joni Dollar, a senior 香港六合彩开奖直播 art student from Monroe, received a scholarship to attend the New York Studio School鈥檚 Summer Marathon workshop. Dollar spent two weeks in June, under Director Graham Nixon鈥檚 guidance, drawing from the live model. This intensive workshop, requiring students to draw for up to 12 hours per day, garnered many excellent works on paper.

Dollar and other current 香港六合彩开奖直播 students, Will Robinson (a senior from Monroe), Karen Robinson (a senior from Alexandria), Stephanie Jordan (a senior from Monroe), and Travis Reuther (a senior from Haughton), also have new works installed in the 香港六合彩开奖直播 Student Sculpture Garden.

Cliff Tresner, associate professor of art at 香港六合彩开奖直播, was nominated and accepted in the 11th edition of Who鈥檚 Who in American Educators.

Tresner and Jason Clark, 香港六合彩开奖直播 assistant professor of art, have an upcoming exhibition at Centenary College in Shreveport Oct. 14 鈥 Dec. 15.

Masur Museum has made a decision to display a permanent work by Tresner entitled, 鈥淪ee What I鈥檓 Saying,鈥 as part of their permanent collection. It will be placed in front of the museum on the lawn.
