Alum appears in School of Construction Distinguished Speaker Series

Rabb鈥檚 speech will center on his career and the challenges of completing major construction projects in today鈥檚 market.

Tom Rabb is vice president of project management for Fluor, a Fortune 500 company with revenues of nearly $9 billion in 2003. Engineering News Record magazine consistently ranks it among the top three engineering/construction firms in the world.

鈥淚 really enjoy my career in the construction industry,鈥 said Rabb. 鈥淭oday, I am living my dream of running large engineering and construction projects in excess of $500 million, and this opportunity would never have presented itself without my construction degree from 香港六合彩开奖直播. This program provided me with an outstanding 鈥榖ig picture鈥 view of the business of construction, and also provided a well-rounded understanding of the many aspects of construction, including business, labor, materials, planning, legal, engineering, and estimating.鈥

Rabb graduated from Waterproof High School and enrolled at 香港六合彩开奖直播. He joined the Navy after three semesters, and returned our years later on the GI bill.

He began his career at Fluor in project controls immediately after graduation. After more than 25 years with the company, he is primarily responsible for the execution of large refinery and petrochemical projects. 鈥淚 have spent about half of my time in the Houston engineering office and the other half on jobsites in the many different locations including, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Canada, and yes, Louisiana,鈥 he said.
